At last, Easter Vacation has arrived, and I couldn't be happier. I've needed this break with every single fiber in my body.
Thursday was absolutely amazing. My parents got me tickets to go see 42nd Street on Broadway! I absolutely love Broadway plays. There's something so much more special about them than any other theatrical performance. My dad was supposed to come along with us, but he was really sick this week, so my grandmother came instead.
The play was absolutely amazing. The dancing. Wow. I'm a huge critic of tap dancing, as I used to be one of the best in my dance school in that category. I used to live, breathe, eat, sleep tap around two years ago. Therefore, I tend to laugh at what 99% of dance schools put on in the category of tap. My old dance teacher was trained classicaly, and was even ob Broadway as a dancer and tapper. Therefore, I had strict and classic training in the area of tap dancing. These tap dancers were great, and that's saying a lot from me.
I was mesmerized by every note, ever flick of the wrist, every movement across the stage. I was in my element. I'm so happy that my parents thought so much of me right before my birthday.
Tonight Sti called me, and we went over Andrew's house. The boys played rounds of Halo, and...Sti and I watched for a bit, then feel asleep! Then we watched the Goonies... and after that was over, more Halo, and again, the two of us almost fell asleep again. I have never understood the appeal of FPS. Wow, run around in circles and shoot things! The only remotely funny thing was when I took the controls and shot Joe instead of the baddies. Whee.
I'm sitting here, typing, and eating Easter bread. What's Easter bread? It's a sweet bread, with a hard boiled egg in the center of the loaf. You don't eat the egg, you take it out, but it does look pretty and very festive. I'm actually happy, in a content way. With my friends, with Joe, with my family.
Life can be grand sometimes, can't it?
