It's My Party and I Cry If I Want To (You Would Cry Too If It Happened to You)

Yeah, so here's the update...

I went to a party at my friend's house...I could feel that it was going to be a really fun party. I mean, it was the first time I would be at the kid's house, and he was one of my closest guy friends, one that I see the most often. So therefore, nothing can go wrong, right?

Wrong. Spigot and her mom came to my house to pick me up, and then we swung by to pick up another one of my guy friends. After everyone was accounted for, we made our way towards my friend's house, ready to party. So we walk in, and my friend's grandma tells us to go downstairs, where the party really was. The house was huge, decorated rather formally...

So we go downstairs, foodstuffs in tow, only to discover my guy friend sitting down there, with two girls whom I've never met. One was vaguely familiar; I had seen her at a dance a while back, but I couldn't really remember anything about her. The other was a new arrival, and she seemed rather nice. You could practically feel the tension bouncing off the walls as Spigot and I tried to get used to what was going on here, and who exactly these strangers were in front of us.

Quasi-familiar Girl turned out to be not my cup of tea. She went outside for a smoke, came back in reeking of cigs. I kept on getting that icky feeling crawling down my back, the feeling when someone's making fun of you without even saying a word. Then two of my other guy friends arrived, one of which, h8te-me (check out his diary) looked quite unhappy to be there. I don't blame him. My skin was crawling to just get out of there.

He finally got an opportunity to make a bee-line outta there, and got chased down the block. The party cleared out then, and I was left with a giggling Spigot and beau, playing War. Go figure. I just sat pretty ugly and waited for everyone to come back. And come back they did, without h8te-me. I thought he had escaped, but apparently he was upstairs with my guy friend's grandmother, watching TV and talking.

The get-together slowly began to get better. Maybe it was me thinking, "I'm not going to give a flying who these people are; I'm my own person and they can never take that away from me." Whatever it was, we ended up telling Polish jokes, and eating piping hot cookies that my dude kept on popping in the microwave. I think it was also because Quasi-familiar Girl happened to get yelled at by the host of our little party, and shut herself up in a corner, brooding. Whatever floats your boat.

h8te-me did return to civilization after the two strangers left, and then it was MUCH better. Just me and my groupie, able to talk freely and enjoy ourselves.

Yay, my best guy friend, magicfish (check him out here) is an uncle! His sister had a baby yesterday, a beautiful girl. From what he's told me she has "the chubbiest cheeks he's ever seen." :)

So that's it for this update. Happy Easter/Passover everybody out there who reads this!
